Confession

Monday, 18 August 2014
Being a cradle catholic, I am always proud to declare my faith in public. Yes, I am a Catholic. Although I cannot label myself godly and pure, but at least I do acknowledge God as my creator and Jesus as my lord and savior. I will never trade my faith for something else.

I went for confession last Saturday. What is a confession? Confession is one of the least understood of the sacraments of the Catholic Church. In reconciling us to God, it is a great source of grace, and Catholics are encouraged to take advantage of it often. What makes it so special is that, only Catholics receive this sacrament, as other Christians do not believe in it. Some claimed that we Catholics are lunatics, confessing sins to a mortal priest, that we do not follow the teachings of the Bible. (However, traditional or "high" Episcopalians have confessions. The Lutherans also have a ritual for reconciliation.)

BUT! In fact,  this institution occurred on Easter Sunday, when Christ first appeared to the apostles after his Resurrection. Breathing on them, he said: “Receive the Holy Spirit. For those whose sins you forgive, they are forgiven; for those whose sins you retain, they are retained” (John 20:22-23).  Jesus Christ himself gave his apostles authority to forgive sins. Amen?

However, venial sins can be confessed directly to God, but for grave or mortal sins, which crush the spiritual life out of the soul, must be confessed. After confession, the priest would give penance.

(An act of self-mortification or devotion performed voluntarily to show sorrow for a sin or other wrongdoing)

Confessional Room

When I entered the room and murmured " In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Bless me Father, for I have sinned." , my lips started to quiver and tears began to form. I could somehow sense God's mercy within me.

Although we humans are not made perfect. We sin. We fall. But if we are really sorry for all the wrongdoings we have done, God is always ready to show mercy, to forgive us. Why? Because He loves us.

If you are a Catholic, think, when was your last confession?

Back From North Pole

Thursday, 5 June 2014
Have been gone for almost a century! North Pole vacation? Nah it was just an exaggerated title intended to make your eyes pop at the sight of 'North Pole' for a second. Hahaha.

Anyways, life has been pretty good to me. Currently enjoying my well deserved 4 weeks long sem break at Negeri Sembilan with my boyfie.  Apparently he received a job offer here so yeah. It is a small, quaint town, away from the hubbub of the city. Basically my daily routines are morning ablutions, prepare breakfast for two, watch him leave the house for work, and then I'm all on my own!

I enjoy searching for recipes and experiment on them. 'Experiment' doesn't sound convincing but yeah, Alex is pretty much my personal lab rat. Hehehe. So I made sushi, chinese pancakes, Korean bibimbap, briyani rice etc... I like to enjoy every nuance of his expression while munching on the food I make, is like wow I am qualified to be a home-maker!

Leaving soon, and I won't be able to see him till mid of July. Although we no longer have to trudge up the LDR hill, but still a few weeks of absence is still an unbearable pain for me.

Baby Mummy Mummy Baby

Friday, 5 April 2013
I just watched a video by Xiaxue on her baby delivery. Wait, do you know Xiaxue? I bet you do. She's one of the most famous and hot Singaporean blogger. (Y)
I wasn't a big fan of her, until I watched her video on her baby, a weird sensation overwhelmed me, so I decided to blog about her a bit.

Her husband is an angmoh. Months ago when she announced her good news on the blog, I wondered how would her baby looks like. Angmoish I guess, and my assumption was right!

Xiaxue decided to do Caesarean instead of the natural delivery. It was painless during the process, she could still joke with her husband who were beside her throughout the surgery. I'd prefer the natural delivery as I could really really experience the excruciating pain a mother must go through for her child in order to bring him to Earth. It was really touching, especially the scene where the doctor carried the new-born baby to Xiaxue. I could imagine her joy. Believe it or not, it moved me to tears!

And then, I thought of my mom. How great she is. How noble she is. Without her, I wouldn't be here. So I wanna say thank you mom, for having to go through such pain to bring me here, for sacrificing your time, for giving me whats best.

I love kids. Although I am scared of pain, even a poke from a needle would make me yell, I still wanna have kids in the near future. 2 or 3 maybe. or 4. HEH!

寻找

Saturday, 26 January 2013

TENSION

Sunday, 20 January 2013
By looking at the title of my post you can already guess the level of my depression. :O

Le first semester of  Degree, le first month of le first semester is already so packed with countless assignments and projects. Gawd.
So every student has to participate in a camp called BIG. ( translated to English: Teacher's Development Camp) which falls on the 26th of February. ( 4 days 3 nights)

We are allllllllll required to hike, to swim, to camp, to cook, to run, to march, to sing, to act, to dance, to climb, to crawl, sleep only 4 hours but this is not the worst part. The worst part is we are not allowed to bring cell phones with us.
WHAT. T_____T

The campsite where we will be heading to :
